Full-time We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our procurement team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and executing purchasing activities to ensure timely delivery of materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and supporting production schedules.
This role requires strong technical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Initiate, manage and track procurement activities in North America and Asia, including purchase orders, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
Analyze supplier quotations and ensure customer engineering requirements are met.
Source and evaluate suppliers based on technical capabilities/performance/cost, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality, cost-effective procurement of materials.
Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production schedules to develop effective purchasing plans and strategies.
Monitor and coordinate orders to minimize lead times and prevent production delays.
Manage 3PL Contract for North America Freight, work with Purchasing Manager to support strategy for contract changes to improve service and efficiency Manage Customs Clearance, Freight Forwarding and ensure correct HTS Duty Codes are applied.
Coordinate with internal departments, such as production, warehousing, and logistics, to ensure seamless material flow and inventory accuracy.
Analyze data and generate reports to assess procurement performance, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
Monitor global influences affecting vendor cost and delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, materials planning, or related roles.
Proficiency in using Epicor P21 or similar ERP systems for material planning and purchasing a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Solution-based mindset Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Strong knowledge of fasteners is a plus.
